Tips for Cyclists
Traveling from Niagara Falls to Fort Erie
The area near the Falls is often congested with traffic and pedestrians and will be a little slower then anticipated. Once past the FALLS there is the town of Chippawa. There is only one eating establishment between Chippawa and Fort Erie, Miller's Creek Marina Resort at 2800 Niagara Parkway. It has a small Hamburger type restaurant (closed Mondays). The next place to eat is in the town of Fort Erie where there are several restaurants on and near the trail.
Jarvis St has several and there are some right on the Niagara Parkway.
The Niagara River Recreational trail from Chippawa to FE Utilizes Several connected service roads so you are off the main road but still close to the river. At Fort Erie you have to ride on the sidewalk or road for a few kilometres. The trail continues through the park just past the Chinese restaurants and under the Piece Bridge. The trail becomes the Friendship Trail when you are at the Old Fort, follows the trail along Lakeshore Rd. to the end, then through or around the forest. This is Waverly Park. This trail now is a sidewalk/board walk through the park. Follow Edgemere St. about 1 km and you are at Kraft rd. Friendship trail B&B is between Edgemere St. and Dominion Rd. 25 steps from the trail.
Traveling from Port Colborne to Fort Erie
This is the Friendship Trial and is paved, flat and mostly tree lined. There are places to eat in Ridgeway about 8 km from our B&B.
We have a nice Italian Restaurant Rina s 1 km from our B&B and several others nearby. If you prefer you can Order Out from a variety of places while you relax on our patio with a cold one.
